Songwriter Stew at Cargo Coffee East - Maddie Batzli of LINE, Kat Rhapsody, Kevin Mason, Luke McGovern

Songwriter Stew is a new original music showcase held monthly at Cargo Coffee East. This “listening room” style event features Madison songwriters sharing songs that surround one word or idea. Each artist plays a short set of original tunes that reflect themes like “play” or “triumph”, “despair” or “nature”. At the end of the evening everyone takes the stage at once for one more song each, played in-the-round style, with an option to play along together.

This month's recipe is centered around "Nourishment"; featuring original music from Kevin Mason, Kat Rhapsody (Kat & The Hurricane), Luke McGovern, and Maddie Batzli (LINE).

Come join us for a night of great original music! All Cargo shows are pay-what-you-can, 100% goes directly to the Artists.

LINE, Flo Petite, and Michael Darling at the Rigby in Madison

LINE will be playing a full band show in a lineup with Flo Petite (based in Maryland) and Michael Darling (based in Madison.) Come join us at the Rigby in downtown Madison!

Doors at 7, show at 8

$10 suggested, sliding-scale cover at the door

Flo Petite is a singer-songwriter, currently based out of Maryland. Her debut EP, titled “Soft Wrinkled Feelings,” was released in March of 2018, securing her a spot in the emerging DIY scene. Preceding her first album, she was discovering her sound by doing shows with the Maryland Institute of Music and toting her guitar around to a variety of open mics and talent competitions. These efforts landed her in the top five of Washington County Teen Idol in 2018, and helped her tweak her performance skills. Aside from being a student and song-writer, Flo is a lifelong vegan with an eclectic mix of other side passions.

Michael Darling is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer from Madison, WI, inspired by contemporary artists like Perfume Genius, Lana Del Rey, and Father John Misty. He blends elements of indie pop, folk-rock, and jazz to create lyrically reflective, emotionally charged music that is both pleasantly familiar yet intriguingly subversive. A child of two musicians, Michael has been immersed in music his whole life. He grew up on the drums, and added singing, guitar, and piano to his repertoire over the years. He has played in jazz ensembles, produced chip tune music for his own video games, and performed his works at various venues in Madison both solo and with Madison band MQBS. Michael is currently playing shows around the Madison area and polishing songs for his debut EP.
